Honey butter toast
A recreation of one of my favourite bakes in London!
The famous honey butter toast at Arôme bakery is probably one of my favourite treats in London so I had to recreate it at home. This version only needs 4 ingredients and it’s completely fool proof so you get exactly the same result as in the bakery

🍞Ingredients
2 thick slices of shokupan/brioche bread
40g butter, room temperature
40g light brown sugar
20g honey
Pinch of salt
🍞Method
In a bowl mix the butter and light brown sugar with a spoon. Then incorporate the honey and salt and mix again until getting a homogeneous creamed mix
Cut your bread into thick slices and remove the crust so you get even squares
Spread your honey butter mix on both sides of the bread including the edges
Place slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake at 180C for 18-20min flipping them half way through. They should get a light brown caramelised colour
Remove toasts from the oven and transfer to a cooling rack for 10 minutes before consuming
These are best enjoyed after cooking them as the caramelised crust will tend to soften after 5 hours
FAQS and Tips
What type of bread to use? The original recipe uses Shokupan, a japanese milk bread that has a firmer, more bready texture so it holds the shappe better. My favourite version is actualy with brioche since it is lighter and more buttery (as well being easier to find!)
